Values, a three Act production that explores the life of a workaholic man. In Act I, one sees a young man, in his mid twenties, hired by a firm. His employer and employees are dressed in common business attire, yet they are wearing black hoods over their heads. During this Act, one sees the man busy working. Papers piled high. The desk is in disarray. The office is busy. As the production progresses, in Act II, one sees the businessman marrying his sweetheart. While at the alter, the desk stands between them as they say their vows. Immediately after his marriage, he is back at his desk. As he continues with his daily routines, she comes to meet him, but he is too busy. After his rejection, she walks towards the background and engages with another man. After rejecting his wife, his son pays him a visit, yet while he continues to do his paperwork, he talks to his son, but never stops working. In Act III, we see that he has aged remarkably. And he continues working. As Act III draws to a close, within distance of his desk, lays a casket. His family stands to the side. He stops working, gets up from his desk, and walks over to the casket to look inside. He finds that it is he. In the background, one sees his employer and black hooded employees standing next to his desk. They are engaging in a lively chat. As this party continues, they hire a young man.
